Rancho El Dorado is one of the closest neighborhoods to the City of Phoenix and as such is very desirable for those commuting out of Maricopa on a daily basis. Rancho El Dorado, or RED as some locals may refer to it, was the first major sub-division in Maricopa and predates the city's incorporation in 2003.
One major feature Rancho El Dorado has to offer is an 18 hole golf course which runs throughout the community. Some homes back up to the greens and offer compelling views of the course. Also within the neighborhood are two of the area's elementary schools. Pima Butte and Santa Rosa Elementary are both excellent schools and provide ample learning opportunities for children K-5.
The Santa Rosa wash runs through this community and provides a nice green belt that is often used for youth sports practice. Electricity service in Rancho El Dorado is provided by Electric District #3, water service is provided by Global Water, and basic cable is provided through an HOA contract with Orbitel Communications. Trash Service is available from Waste Management. Natural Gas service is provided by Southwest Gas.
